Senior Software Engineer, Beijing

We are looking for a results oriented A+ engineer to help develop products 
on mobile platforms, which enables people to connect with friends and stay 
closer to family around the world in a way that is fun, easy, spontaneous, 
and fits the moment. 

You are responsible for developing and optimizing the native facial tracking 
code for best performance and power on the mobile platforms and rendering 
video on server system. You will be an integral part of a team of 
experienced engineers who are continuously creating new features and pushing 
our products to higher goals.

Responsibilities

Optimize the native facial tracking code on mobile platform in favor of 
optimal performance/power
Render video for commodity browsers on backend system for best performance/
quality

Requirements

Expert C/C++ skills
Proficient in performance profiling, tuning, and debugging of application on 
mobile platforms
Hands-on skill set and experience on video codec, FFMPEG, and deep 
understanding on video codec for popular browsers (Chrome, IE, FireFox, 
Safari)
A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data 
structures, algorithms, complexity, multi-threading, synchronization and 
software design patterns
Knowledgeable of computer architecture, power modeling on mobile platform
Multi-platform development experience (across different OS, CPU 
architectures)
Excellent communication skills and self-motivation capability
4+ years of engineering experience in software development & leadership of 
application integration efforts in the mobile handset industry. A BS or MS 
degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering or Computer 
Science is required.

Plus
Knowledge in computer vision, machine learning technology is a big plus
Mobile development experience (Android, iPhone) is a plus.

You are responsible for developing and optimizing the advanced facial 
tracking code for best accuracy, performance, and power on the mobile 
platforms. You will be an integral part of a team of senior researchers who 
are continuously creating new features and pushing our products to higher 
goals.

Job Description

Initiates the design, development, execution and implementation of 
scientific research projects to fuel Intel's growth in the areas of 
computing, communication, technology and manufacturing and new business 
opportunity. Investigates the feasibility of applying scientific principles 
and concepts to potential inventions and products typically 7+ years prior 
to landing on a product roadmap. Plans and executes laboratory research. 
Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories, 
and contributes to scientific literature and conferences. May participate in 
development of intellectual property. May coordinate interdepartmental 
activities and research efforts. Typically holds a PhD.

Develop the advanced facial tracking and expression recognition algorithm
Write high-quality code in favor of accuracy/performance/power

Requirements

Proficient in C/C++
At least 2 years of OpenCV experience
Extensive experiences in computer vision, pattern recognition, numerical 
optimization
Face processing experience, including face detection, landmark detection, 
face alignment, face tracking
Excellent communication skills and self-motivation capability
